Veteran Iranian actress Roya Teymourian is slated has been honored at the Sedicicorto International Film Festival in Italy.

The 17th edition of the Italian event honored the Iranian star for her lifetime activities.

Born in 1960, she has mostly acted in plays. Her performance in the movie 'Rain Man (Barani)' (1999) saw her nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at both the International Fajr Film Festival and the Iran Cinema Celebration Awards.

In 2002, she won a Golden Statuette at the Iran Cinema Celebration Awards for 'Women’s Prison' (2000).

Roya Teymourian is well remembered by ifilm audiences for 'Zero Degree Turn', 'The Tenth Night', 'Saint Mary', 'Reyhaneh', 'Shams-ol-Emareh' and 'Edge of Darkness'.

Launched in 2004, the Sedicicorto is held every year in October in the Italian comune of Forlì.

The event aims at offering visibility to young authors and presenting an opportunity of meeting and exchanging among film industry professionals.

The 17th edition of the event was held on October 2-11, 2020.
